Sandalwood

One of the oldest known perfume materials, Sandalwood has been in uninterrupted use for at least 4000 years with the most famous source being Mysore, India. Sandalwood has a very soft, sweet-woody aroma with an almost animal-balsamic note. It is a truly distinctive and tenacious woody aroma that pairs well with florals and acts as a fixative in many fragrance blends. It is also a common base note in many incense blends. Sandalwood is thought to have uplifting and sensual qualities.
