The "Queen of Flowers". Originally from Arabia, the rose was the first flower to have its essential oil extracted and remains one of the most popular fragrances in the world. It produces a rich and sweet fragrance with honey-like undertones and wonderful tenacity. The Bulgarian (or Damascus) variety has a deeper floral fragrance and an added spicy note. Natural rose fragrances have anti-depressant and aphrodisiac qualities, promoting a feeling of well being. It mixes well with other florals and is popular in eastern fragrance blends.
