There are some 24,000 species of orchids in the world. Most are concentrated in tropical regions but orchids can grow in every habitat except deserts and Antarctica. Orchids are not known for their fragrance. Most familiar varieties are sold for their stunning flowers. Among the aromatic varieties the fragrance characteristics can be quite different, including one that has a distinctively chocolate note. For the purpose of this directory we will describe a particular type of orchid aroma that has a sweet honey floral note, light but full, with a hint of rose. |
